His Excellency the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, on 21 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH (corresponding to May 19, 2025), inspected a number of sites at the holy sites. This visit comes in line with the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the close follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Prime Minister — may Allah preserve them — to ensure all preparations are in place to welcome the guests of Allah for the 1446 Hajj season, and to review the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, and services provided to pilgrims in a way that ensures their comfort and safety.
His Excellency inspected the readiness of the “Kadana Al-Wadi Towers,” which represent a comprehensive transformation in the style of pilgrim accommodation in Mina. He also reviewed the preparations of several service companies at the holy sites, which included inspecting the current setups, accommodation plans, and evaluating the quality of services provided.
Furthermore, His Excellency toured a number of new projects being implemented by the “Kadana Development and Construction Company” aimed at improving and developing the environment of the holy sites. The projects scheduled to be launched this year include advanced service facilities intended to enhance operational efficiency and upgrade the quality of services offered to pilgrims. These include the construction of a new emergency hospital in Mina with a capacity of 200 beds, the establishment of 71 emergency medical centers along pedestrian paths in the holy sites, shading and cooling of the areas surrounding the Namira Mosque covering 85,000 square meters, the installation of 320 shade canopies and 350 misting fans, and the completion of the first phase of upgrading the toilet system in Mina with the replacement of 2,116 toilets by 61 modern two-story complexes containing over 5,600 toilets — all aimed at improving service efficiency and providing a more comfortable environment for the pilgrims.
In addition, 20,000 trees were planted across 290,000 square meters as part of the “Green Holy Sites” project, which aligns with the Saudi Green Initiative and aims to increase green spaces and moderate the climate.
These inspection visits are part of the ongoing coordination between the relevant government agencies to ensure full readiness before the commencement of the Hajj rituals this year and to provide the best possible organizational and enriching experience for the guests of Allah.
