“Kidana” Implements the First Phase of Two-Story Tents in Mina
Kidana Development and Development Company – the executive arm of the Royal Commission for the Holy City of Makkah and the Holy Sites – has completed the first phase of the two-story tent project in partnership with the private sector. This phase represents about 75% of the entire project and is part of a comprehensive development plan aimed at enriching the pilgrim experience, increasing capacity, and improving the quality of accommodation services in Mina, ensuring a comfortable and safe living environment for the Guests of Allah.
The first phase was carried out in partnership with Ithraa Hospitality Holding and implemented by Ithraa Al-Mashaer Development Company. It covers a residential area exceeding 20,000 square meters, consisting of 46 buildings equipped with over 550 restrooms. The construction took approximately 100 days, utilizing various advanced building techniques that accelerate the implementation process and provide more reliable and flexible solutions to adapt to weather changes.
During the Hajj season of 1446 AH, the project aims to accommodate around 8,000 pilgrims from within and outside the Kingdom, from various Hajj packages. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness and suitability of the project for the diverse needs of pilgrims, paving the way for a potential broader expansion in the holy sites. The entire project is scheduled for completion by next Hajj season, with a total capacity of up to 20,000 pilgrims.
The project contributes to enhancing the quality of accommodation services in the holy sites and enriching the spiritual journey of the pilgrims by providing a well-organized and safe residential environment that supports their well-being and meets their varied needs. It also helps create a suitable setting for the smooth and serene performance of rituals within the camps, which improves overall pilgrim satisfaction and supports the sustainable and optimal use of available space.
