On a Journey Through the Heart of the Holy Sites…
“Tarwiyah” Initiative Enhances Cultural Awareness Among General Education Students
On Wednesday, 9 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH, the first tour of the “Tarwiyah” initiative was launched—one of the distinguished initiatives implemented by the Kidana Development and Development Company, in partnership with the General Directorate of Education in the Makkah Region. The initiative aims to enrich the knowledge and cultural awareness of youth about historical sites and development projects offered by official and service entities in the service of the Guests of Allah (pilgrims).
The inaugural tour was attended by the Director General of Education in the Makkah Region and the Head of Strategy Sector representing Kidana’s CEO, along with the participation of 100 general education students. The knowledge-based tours will continue throughout the year, with a total of 12 trips planned in the Holy Sites.
The initiative aims to achieve sustainable development and revitalization of the Holy Sites year-round and to introduce historical landmarks by outlining specific routes for field tours. These include mosques located within the boundaries of the Holy Sites, the Zubaida Canal, the Majer Al-Kabsh channel, and other key historical landmarks and archaeological sites. It also seeks to showcase the Kingdom’s development projects dedicated to serving pilgrims and enriching their experience.
This tour marks the activation of a memorandum of understanding signed between Kidana and the General Directorate of Education in the Makkah Region, aiming to foster mutual cooperation in developing educational capabilities through training programs and various initiatives, as well as supporting experiential learning through the implementation of the “Tarwiyah” initiative and organizing field trips for male and female students to the Holy Sites.
It is worth mentioning that the “Tarwiyah” initiative is sponsored by Bank AlJazira, as part of strengthening strategic partnerships between the banking and development sectors in adopting community initiatives and supporting sustainable development efforts in improving services for society and the Holy Sites—implementing global best practices in development projects and achieving the highest quality standards in enhancing services provided to the Guests of Allah.
