Leadership in Sustainable Development of the Holy Sites

At Kidana, we are dedicated to ensuring the sustainability of holy site development by implementing international best practices and adhering to the highest quality standards across all our projects and operations. Our Key Achievements

SCADA Monitoring and Control System Project
Kidana implemented the third phase of the Operational Control Center Infrastructure Rehabilitation Project through the SCADA system, enhancing the efficiency of real-time monitoring and control of assets by activating the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system. The system is considered a key pillar in the digital transformation of asset management, ensuring the continuity and efficiency of vital services in the holy sites during the Hajj season of 1447 AH. Through a unified control center, the SCADA system connects and monitors the operational infrastructure in real time. The system includes monitoring more than 400 backup tanks and over 300 cooling systems. It also enables the monitoring and control of more than 800 electrical panels, 500 mist fans, and 1,000 restroom complexes, allowing faults or potential service interruptions to be detected before they occur and enabling immediate intervention to address them, thereby reducing risks and preventing emergency situations.
The Escalator Project to Improve Accessibility to the Elevated Areas of Mina
To enrich the experience of the Guests of Allah, infrastructure projects contributed to connecting the camps in the elevated areas of Mina through the implementation of 74 escalators. These include 32 escalators installed for the Hajj season of 1445 AH to facilitate pilgrims’ movement, 32 escalators installed for the Hajj season of 1446 AH, and 10 escalators installed during the Hajj season of 1447 AH. These escalators have significantly contributed to the smooth and efficient flow of pilgrims to and from their camps.
Project for the Development of Mist Fan Columns in the Jamarat Area for Hajj 1447 AH.
Implementation of a project to replace mist columns with 400 mist fan columns in the western and eastern courtyards of the Jamarat Bridge, serving up to 360,000 pilgrims per hour—an increase of 100% compared to last year. Kidana completed the replacement of mist columns with mist fan columns in the western courtyard of the Jamarat facility. During the first phase in Hajj 1446 AH, 200 columns were replaced, while the Hajj 1447 AH season targeted the replacement of an additional 200 columns. This upgrade significantly enhances cooling efficiency and improves air distribution across the area.
Pedestrian Pathways Project in the Holy Sites
Developing pedestrian pathways in the Holy Sites through a shading project with a total area of approximately 103,000 m². The first phase covers about 95,000 m² and includes the installation of 990 fans, while the second phase in Mina covers 8,130 m² and includes the installation of 72 mist fans. This year, Kidana also completed the shading of the section connecting the Al-Shuaibain tunnels, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the experience of the Guests of the Most Merciful and improve the quality of services provided to them during the Hajj season of 1447 AH.
